The bar association of the District of Columbia provides the only Lawyer Referral Service in the District of Columbia as a public service to the community and a service to its members. it provides an effective means for members of the general public to be referred to attorneys who are experienced in the area of law in which they need assistance. The LRS works on a rotating basis within the fields of law indicated on the enrollment application. The referral fee is $39.95 collected from the caller by credit card over the telephone by the referral service intake staff. When a referral is made to a panel attorney, the caller will be given the name and telephone number of one attorney from the panel list. The caller is then connected to the attorney’s office to make an appointment for the initial consultation. If an actual legal case materializes, panel attorneys are also required to remit a percentage of fees received from referred cases back the the Bar. If an appointment is not kept or the client never calls for an appointment, it is the responsibility of the attorney to so inform the LRS within two weeks of the referral date. -

The MCCH works closely with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to aid in locating children who have been abducted and taken out of California or brought into California. The MCCH publishes and distributes a monthly poster and quarterly bulletin featuring missing children and dependant adults throughout California. The Domestic Violence Shelter, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization that opened its doors in 1979 as one of the first three domestic violence shelters in the state of Ohio. The Shelter was founded by a group of concerned citizens who were moved to provide much needed assistance to victims of domestic violence that found themselves in danger without options for safety. Our current property has nearly 10,000 square feet with 10 client rooms that can house up to 29 individuals comfortably. The Shelter has evolved from providing primarily emergency shelter to becoming a fully functioning agency that provides a range of services to survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. In 2007, The Shelter became a dual focused program and now provides 24/7 advocacy and support to survivors of sexual assault who present in the emergency rooms of Ohio Health Mansfield and Avita Health System. -
