We have taken numerous measures to keep your communication safe while using our site. However, be aware that no internet communication can be 100% secure. Please make sure you are using a computer or mobile device you trust to contact us.
Confidentiality and Anonymity
During your chat session, the victim assistance specialist will NOT ask for any personally identifying information such as your name or address. Chat transcripts are stored and automatically purged after six (6) months from the date of your interaction with the specialist. Transcripts maintained during this time are core to our evaluation of services provided to visitors contacting the hotline.
Anything you share will remain confidential UNLESS you disclose abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult, or the intent to harm yourself or others.
